The Poultry Waste Management program from OSU Extension features classes, a newsletter and an informative website. These resources were created to help Oklahoma’s poultry producers and poultry waste applicators by providing convenient access to poultry waste management education schedules, regulatory information, related publications and local Extension contacts.

  • For more information about Oklahoma's poultry waste management regulations, visit the Oklahoma Regulations page.

  • Go to the publications page to view, print or download more related materials, including past issues of Poultry Practices, the OSU Extension industry newsletter.

  • Oklahoma Litter Market serves as a FREE communication resource that lists sellers and service providers of poultry litter. Marketing poultry litter to more distant nutrient-deficient areas or for further processing offers one solution to the litter surplus issue associated with high production areas. View current fertilizer prices Two River CoopThe Oklahoma Litter Market participant listings are added and maintained throughout the year. Download the Oklahoma Litter Market flyer to view the list of sellers and service providers. Contact Brad Bain, brad.bain@okstate.edu, to be added or update your listing.

  • Poultry Litter Transfer Program – This program will provide an incentive to the poultry grower to sell litter to a qualified buyer but also to the buyer to help offset the cost of transport. For more information and guidelines, view the Poultry Litter Transfer Program document.

  • Neighbors Helping Neighbors – Addressing challenges through voluntary programs. Bringing neighbors and poultry growers together to identify problems and implement solutions that reduce impacts of facilities on the local community by: Improving understanding of issues and concerns - Improving utilization of available or new programs and technologies to address concerns - Improving communication among neighbors and other partners - Improving protection of natural resources - Providing criteria to inform growers and integrators in planning future facilities. To accomplish the objectives, the program will work with landowners to: Implement conservation practices - Provide education and outreach to growers and their neighbors - Implement best management practices on either grower’s or neighbor’s property - Work with county commissioners on road issues where necessary - Allow for new, innovative technologies to address issues and concerns - Find ways to use current technologies or practices in new ways. For more information and details, view the Neighbors Helping Neighbors flyer.
